The Body Keeps The Score

This is by far the best book out there in understanding how trauma affects our nervous systems, how we see the world, and how we relate to others and ourselves.

This is an excellent and well researched book on different Attachment styles that will help you understand why anxiety is such a strong component in our intimate partnerships.


Come As You Are

Probably the best, most comprehensive book out there on sexuality, defying the myth of what's normal. I highly recommend her work, especially as she is a researcher as well as a trained clinician.


The Happiness Trap

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy has evolved to be one of the most effective psychotherapy models to date. Well researched and easy to understand, this book helps people use tools of mindfulness and committed value based actions to increase psychology flexibility, the hallmark of good mental health.


The Tools

If you are looking for a practical book that includes a spiritual focus on facing fears and challenges, this is an excellent read. I highly recommend the audio book, as it is conversational and a pleasure to listen to.


Dopamine Nation

Dopamine Nation is a must read if you are struggling with an addiction or compulsive behavior. This book explores how the brain sets us up to continue the same behavioral patterns, even when our mind says stop.


The Road Back to You

There are many books out there on the enneagram. I find this book is an excellent start to understand some basic principles of your enneagram type.

If you are only going to read one book about spirituality (and of course there are many), this is the one to read. Eckhart Tolle is probably the most widely accessible spiritual teacher and writer of our time.
